Hey Guys!
So the very awesome and talented Ryan Jay is designing me a brand spankin’ new website. A lot of you have messaged me asking about what to do to promote yourselves as photographers, and the absolute #1 thing you should have is a well designed site. Ryan even has an unbelievably affordable web template for sale!
Check out his site and hit him up! He rules!

I have approximately 30 questions in my ask box that swirl around the drain of the same basic question…
”Megan, I’m broke, and I don’t have any money, and I want to get a bunch of good gear, but I’m poor, and I can’t afford to buy anything. Did I mention I’m broke? Anyway I want to be a photographer, how do I get all the gear you have? But remember I don’t have any money to spend… at all.”
Each time this pops up in my inbox I slowly rub my temples, inhale, and as I slowly exhale I think to myself, “You don’t.”
If it looks like this DSLR has been through a lot, it’s because it has.
It hung out at the bottom of the ocean and later washed up on shore in Canada! Marcus found it with 50 photos intact and managed to find the owner via Google+!

Canon for the win!
This is always an intense topic of debate. I’ve had my ups and downs doing freelance photography with no schooling, but I’ve never felt my lack of “education” has hindered me. I sure as heck can’t imagine being in debt for nearly $90,000 and trying to pay that off with photography. So, I made this!
Reblog if you agree or wish to spark some debate.
That’s why you don’t go to a bullshit school like The Art Institutes. Out of all my friends who have gone there, I have ONE that is employed in their field. They’re a scam.
the best part about the internet is that it’s free.
also it knows more than every professor or teacher i’ve ever had.
Well to be fair you’re not going to school for photography Matt haha! I’ve never found a decent online source half as good as my photo degree :)

Aaron Gustafson shoots large format photos while skydiving! He’s rigged his 4x5 camera to his helmet which lets him photograph as he free-falls.
